Methodology
How the Block Plane Finder works
We compare published specifications; we have not tested these products.
Which details affect a match?
A model matches when its details meet every choice you select. Missing or conflicting values stay unknown. If nothing fits, the finder shows the closest option and what it misses.
- Do you need a flat or convex sole?
- What is the maximum sole length (in)?
- What is the minimum blade width (in)?
Order and links
The starting order helps you browse. Your choices determine which models match. When the first match has no product link, the finder identifies another linked match separately. Commission amounts do not determine a match.
Sources and limitations
Published specifications from Lie-Nielsen and Rockler’s Bench Dog product pages; no physical testing. Numeric fractions converted exactly to decimal inches. No. 103 sole profile left unknown. The 102 Bronze backorder and 140 right-hand out-of-stock listings were excluded. Results are filtered by all three answers and listed alphabetically, with no scores or awards. Missing specifications are shown as not listed by the maker; an active filter excludes an unknown value.
The finder shows source links and the dates they were checked. Those dates do not establish today’s price or stock. Before ordering, confirm the model and variant on the seller’s page.
