How the Wood Stain Coverage Finder works

We compare published specifications; we have not tested these products.

Which details affect a match?

A model matches when its details meet every choice you select. Missing or conflicting values stay unknown. If nothing fits, the finder shows the closest option and what it misses.

  • Minimum coverage in square feet per quart?
  • Which stain base do you prefer?
  • Which cleanup method suits your project?

Order and links

The starting order helps you browse. Your choices determine which models match. When the first match has no product link, the finder identifies another linked match separately. Commission amounts do not determine a match.

Sources and limitations

Ten distinct stain lines from Minwax and General Finishes. Gallon coverage is divided by four to express the same volume as one US quart. Lower and upper published estimates are retained; these are not measured yields. Dry times are omitted because some pages conflict. Minwax Gel Stain base is unknown from the checked page. Published manufacturer specifications only. No physical testing, scores, ranks or awards. Missing values mean not listed by the maker.

The finder shows source links and the dates they were checked. Those dates do not establish today’s price or stock. Before ordering, confirm the model and variant on the seller’s page.
