Emergency radios: does battery capacity prove runtime?

Compare battery capacity, weight and longest dimension across ten radios. Capacity cannot promise runtime.

Confirm power, charging and local reception on the maker page. Weight conventions vary; one dimension cannot establish bag fit or phone charging.

How the comparison works

Your choices are compared with each model’s product details. A missing or conflicting value stays unknown and cannot satisfy a choice you select. The starting order helps you browse; it does not rate real-world performance.

Source dates appear with each link below. A source date does not confirm today's price or stock.

Battery capacity does not tell you how long alerts will last

Battery capacities in this group run from 500 to 10000 mAh. FosPower's 10000 mAh entry weighs 570 g and has a longest dimension of 175 mm; Midland also has a 10000 mAh entry, but its weight and dimensions are unknown here. Equal battery capacity does not supply equal packing information.

Capacity alone cannot predict listening duration or the charge delivered to a phone. Read the selected radio's charging instructions and alert settings, and verify reception where you intend to use it.

Pack by body measurements as well as weight

FosPower's 4000 mAh radios illustrate why capacity and size need separate attention: their weights are 352 and 380 g, with longest dimensions of 132 and 160 mm respectively. If space in your kit is tight, compare the actual body before assuming that the same battery figure means the same package. Known longest dimensions across the radios span 132 to 241.3 mm. That single dimension does not describe the full shape. Read all body measurements, the maker's battery-weight convention and any accessory needs before packing. Unknown Midland weights cannot support a claim that those radios are lighter or heavier.

Before you buy

Does more mAh mean longer listening time?

Not necessarily. Battery voltage, radio draw, volume, lights and device charging all affect runtime. This filter compares only the maker’s listed battery capacity. Set a minimum battery capacity, then narrow ten radio models by published weight and their longest dimension. Confirm power, charging and local reception requirements on the exact maker page. Battery capacity in mAh is not a runtime or phone-charge promise. Weight conventions vary, and the largest dimension alone cannot prove a bag fit. Both Midland pages omit weight and dimensions, so those models remain visible until you set a relevant limit.

Does the longest dimension establish that a radio fits my bag?

No. Check all three dimensions and space for accessories on the product page. This filter only removes radios whose largest listed measurement exceeds your limit.

Will these radios receive alerts at my address?

This finder does not verify local reception or your alert settings. Follow the exact radio’s setup instructions and verify reception where you plan to use it.
