Does a longer manual tile cutter always weigh more?
Not always. QEP's 36 in Slimline 10636Q weighs 24.8 lb, less than the 28 in Big Clinker 10800 at 34.2 lb.
The 5/8 in cutters run heavy, four of five at 34.14 lb or more.

A straight rip rating does not answer a diagonal cut
QEP's maximum straight rip ratings span 20 to 48 in. The 24 in Slimline Professional weighs 11.5 lb, while the 48 in Large Format Tile cutter weighs 56.75 lb. Choose capacity for the actual straight cut, then decide how much cutter you want to transport.
The capacity and weight selectors match exact values, so selecting 24 in does not retain every larger cutter. Diagonal cutting capacity needs its own model guidance; it cannot be inferred from the straight rip figure.
Thickness alone cannot certify the tile material
The Slimline Professional models carry a maximum tile-thickness value of 0.5 in. QEP's Big Clinker range contains different thickness limits, so a family name does not settle that choice. This comparison uses QEP's capacity and tool-weight data without cutting ceramic or porcelain samples.
Match thickness and material to the exact model's cutting instructions, especially for diagonal work. The table uses tool weight rather than shipping weight; neither weight nor cutting capacity measures the quality of a cut edge.
Before you buy
Is a 24 in rip rating also a 24 in diagonal rating?
No. Straight rip and diagonal cutting capacities are different limits. Diagonal capacity is not compared here; check the exact model's diagonal limit if you cut corner to corner.
Will these cut porcelain or natural stone?
Size and thickness don't settle that. Two names mention ceramic and porcelain, the 10221Q and the 10220Q (whose cutting-wheel diameter equals its tile-thickness limit below; those are different measurements), and QEP's material list for each model is the place to confirm the rest.
Does the weight include packaging?
QEP labels these figures Item Weight. Check the seller's shipping-weight figure separately if you need the parcel weight. Not always. QEP's 36 in Slimline 10636Q weighs 24.8 lb, less than the 28 in Big Clinker 10800 at 34.2 lb. The 5/8 in cutters run heavy, four of five at 34.14 lb or more. To carry one between jobs, the 20 in 10220Q weighs 7.5 lb and takes tile up to 1/2 in.
