Closed height can exceed the label. Three 10 ft models close to 118.4 or 121.7 in; AMP1010 closes to 143.3 in.
Fiberglass FS models are wider closed than same-size aluminum AS models at 4, 6 and 10 ft.

The ladder has to get through the door, too
A folded ladder can fit a wall space yet be awkward to carry into it. Louisville Ladder's aluminum options include a 46.4 in closed height, while a fiberglass option reaches 145.7 in. Measure the storage height and the route to it, including turns, before choosing a size.
Closed depth runs from 6 to 9 in; closed width spans 18 to 34.4 in. The aluminum platform model is 34.4 in wide and 9 in deep, so height alone would miss its larger storage footprint. The dimensions come from Louisville Ladder; carrying these ladders through a home was outside this comparison.
Aluminum and fiberglass still need a separate use check
Louisville Ladder includes both aluminum and fiberglass constructions here. Fiberglass does not automatically mean a shallower folded ladder: examples in that material have either 6 or 7 in closed depth. Leave room to grip the ladder and pull it away from its storage position.
Storage fit cannot tell you the safe working height, load limit or suitability for an electrical task. Material and folded dimensions provide no safety approval; before use, read the limits and setup instructions for the exact stepladder or platform.
Before you buy
What should I measure before choosing?
The clear height, width and depth of the spot where you'll store it, then leave room for you to slide the ladder in and out. Compare those with the closed figures here, not the ladder's working size; the 4 ft AS4004, for example, folds to 48.7 in tall, 18 in wide and 6 in deep, while the AS3004 is shorter at 46.4 in but 7 in deep.
Does a storage fit mean the ladder suits my job?
No. This page covers stored size only, so for working height, load, use near electrical sources and safe setup you'll need the exact model's instructions and labels. The page titles do give a duty rating, from Type II at 225 lb on the AS4004 and AS4006 to Type IAA at 375 lb on the fiberglass FS models.
Why is the AMP1010 so large when closed?
Louisville's title calls it a twin front platform ladder. It closes within 2.4 in of the 12 ft FS1412HD's height and to 34.4 in wide and 9 in deep, the widest and deepest here; the next widest is the FS1412HD at 31.4 in.
